Acceptance Insurance - Missing a signed application for car insurance?
I just got car insurance for my new car and I got a letter days later saying they were missing a “signed application” from me. What does that even mean?
I then called the customer service line and they put me on hold for an hour so I gave up. This was first acceptance car insurance
AllState - Additionally Insured Renters
I recently signed a lease for a new apartment. I currently have AllState, however they don’t allow Landlords/businesses to be additionally insured under my policy.
So what insurances do allow landlords to be additionally insured? NOT an additional interest. I can’t find any information on this! And every customer support/agent I talk to gets very confused.
Geico - Insurance Premium Increased for Non At Fault, Passenger Claim?
Hello all! I was a passenger in a non at fault accident two years ago. My lawyer filed with the person that hit us, and then used my underinsured at the time too (with geico). We just switched insruance and our 6 month premium is 300 dollars more than if I didn't have that claim 2 years ago.
Is it normal to have my car insurnace go up because of a non-at fault claim where I was a passenger?
Thank you!
State Farm - Home insurance while in probate
My father died and we are in process of cleaning and getting ready for resale in Illinois. I called State Farm and explained they told me the renewal in October may be subject to non renewal. And said to add a vacancy clause will be very expensive. Should I shop Around now or wait? I am executor. What happens to utilities if house isn’t insured? Someone told me they get turned off.
Hagerty - Hagerty / Specialty Car Insurance _ Audi B5 S4
I've had a Hagerty policy for about 4 years on my B5 S4. For context, I live on Long Island, NY. Around December of last year I made a decision to remove the insurance and plates from the vehicle due to other priorities in life. Over the years, my annual policy rate typically ranged between $600 to $720 with an agreed upon value of $15k. Deductibles were $500 and property damage / bodily injury was set to $100k/300k with supplemental at $50k.
The time has come to get insurance and plates for the car, again. I got a quote from Hagerty yesterday and it came up to $2370 per year! The policy was configured identically to the last quote I received for renewal in February of 2025 which was quoted at $719 for the year. My driving record, credit score and address is the same.
I called up to have someone review and validate that I have configured the quote criteria exactly as the recently canceled policy. The Hagerty rep confirmed the policy configuration and was also shocked by the difference in the quote. She mentioned that there was an increase recently to all NY issued policies but she did not have any other value added info.
Do any of you fellow redditors have a recommendation for a specialty vehicle policy with other companies? I filled out an additional application with Grundy that is currently under review.
Progressive - Progressive billing me one month after I paid my 6 month rate?
Hi all,
Unfortunately, someone (without insurance) hit my parked car earlier this month. I have their information and going through a claim now with progressive to get my car fixed. I assumed even though I was not at fault that my insurance would go up, but I just paid in full in June for the next 6 months and progressive just sent me a bill for $250 due in August? This seems a little crazy! I didn't think it would go up that much, nor did I think I would already have to pay a premium, thought this would be at renewal. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks!
Embrace - Potential cancer diagnosis with Embrace
My almost 6 year old German Shepherd most likely has bone cancer. I’m very impressed by how Embrace has covered us following an almost $6,000 two night emergency vet visit. We have follow up appointments scheduled to get clear answers and treatment options and I was thinking I was grateful that our policy renews in December because I’m almost at my yearly max already. But a coworker pointed out that it’s very possible they might drop us when it’s time to renew our policy. Has anyone experienced this with Embrace?? I’d like to be mentally prepared if I’m going to have to go out of pocket starting in December.

Admiral - Someone has filed a claim against me... and I have no knowledge of it
My insurer (Admiral) got in touch with me late last week advising me of a claim on my account that I needed to check. Unfortunately I was on holiday so have only had a chance to look into it today.
However, I haven't been involved in any incidents at all - ever. I've never hit another car, had an accident, or been involved in a crash. My car has zero damage, no bumps or scrapes, even the paintwork is pristine (I use it infrequently) I've never once claimed on insurance, or even needed to.
I checked the claim date and I happened to be travelling to London and back that day from Birmingham for work (my once in a lifetime trip, last minute so couldn't catch a train conveniently). I can say for sure that I wasn't involved in an incident that day as I spent it all either on a motorway or parked at a hotel attending a conference.
The claim itself has no information attached for me to refute.
I haven't had a chance to call them yet (it's on my to-do list for later today) but have emailed them asking for more information/clarity.
What do I do from here? I'm confused, surprised, frustrated, and very worried that it's going to affect my insurance or future costs. Is it a fraudulent claim, or have I been claimed against in error?
Any advice is much appreciate :)
my insurance company - Rear ended by uninsured driver/Diminution of Value
I was rear ended by a driver with an out of state license, but his truck is registered in this state (Texas), he seemed to be a shady individual as well to me when dealing with him.
The police came and wrote a report but it didn’t technically put him at fault even though he rear ended me. I did however get him on video admitting he was at fault. I filed the claim with his insurance, but it was a slow response from them. I went ahead and filed with mine to get the ball rolling because I needed to get it fixed. Well turns out that was a good move because come to find out he wasn’t covered by his insurance company at the time. So basically he got away with having no insurance when the police arrived because he had a paper saying he did.
My question is now that my truck is fixed and back to normal, I received a diminution in value evaluation form from my insurance company for me to fill out. Is this to provide a compensation due to my truck now losing some value to the accident? It had never been in an accident previously so what can I expect towards compensation based on the value of the truck. Its KBB value ranges from $15-$19k. It’s in excellent condition though. How would diminution work according to that? Will my insurance company send me a check or something?
Also on a side note, can I contact the police to inform them that his insurance company called me and said that he was not covered at the time? Could they pursue a ticket to him even though he has an out of state license?
