Have an issue with your insurance?
Let everyone know!
Insurance companies are constantly reviewing us. Are we too old? Do we live in the wrong place? Is our credit score high enough? Well, now it's time to turn the tables. Do you charge too much? Will you pay my claim quickly? Is your coverage worse than it seems? We can review you too.

AAA - Landlord insurance
I just bought a SFH with an attached JADU and an ADU. When we get our insurance through AAA we asked for landlord insurance since we would be renting out the main House and JADU. We are living in the ADU. The agent put us down with coverage and told us this did not cover belongings in the rentals. I am confused about what kind of insurance he gave us since AAA called us back and told us we need to talk with a specialist for landlord insurance. We also have a 2M umbrella policy. What insurance should I be asking for exactly to get this correct?
Progressive - Why would I not get my full pip coverage?
I have $2500 in pip coverage and over $30k in medical bills. I’ve only gotten $900 in pip coverage. My lawyer said that is the offer from progressive. Why would I not get the full pip amount? I’ve also lost over $30k in income but my attorney won’t submit income loss.
Pets Best - Pets Best
Now paying $500.94 every 6 months for our 5 year old goldendoodle. We have minimal claims in the past year. Went up significantly this year. Does this sound right around everyone else? We feel like this is a lot to pay but nervous to go down on our coverage in case of an emergency.
RSPCA - RSPCA pet insurance keep calling
I looked online for a quote for pet insurance and the people at RSPCA have called twice already trying to get me as a customer and when I say no because I wanna look around at other options… they ask if I wanna sign up until I change my mind and then cancel
So annoying
Does this happen to anyone else ?
MetLife - MetLifes denial of my claims appears to be a breach of contract (to me). Do I have any recourse?
To start, I must say I am very familiar with contractual language, terms, etc. With that being said, I specifically combed through multiple providers agreements to ensure I'd have coverage for specific events.
MetLife has denied all of my claims & appeals for of course, it having been a preexisting condition. That in itself is hilarious - during an annual checkup my vet and I were discussing how she's been and I mentioned a little sleepy that week but so was I and they diagnosed her with "lethargy".
Either way, unless reviewing their policy certain tests and medications would appear to be included under coverage regardless. It's difficult to give specifics over Reddit, but I figured someone may be able to direct me on how to pursue this further.
Pets Best - Pets Best covers acupuncture but PEMF is an uncovered “alternative and holistic” therapy
How is acupuncture not “alternative and holistic” but PEMF is? I’m treating hind leg pain and arthritis in my young dog, was recommended to get PEMF involved, but I just checked our policy and it’s not covered.
Anyone have any success with appealing PEMF coverage? I’m sure that I’m out of luck as it’s specifically excluded in the policy, but I’m wondering if it’s worth pushing for with a vet note.
Healthy Paws - Healthy Paws has been great so far, but considering switching to a safer option.
My five year-old spayed female Pomeranian mix has been insured by Healthy Paws since I got her at eight weeks. They have reimbursed me for the full amount of my coverage within 36 hours every time, no questions asked, and our monthly premium has only increased slightly over the last five years ($40 to $45). However, I have heard a lot of stories about people who have had their monthly premiums with Healthy Paws increase by obscene amounts as their dogs get older. My pup does not have any history of medical issues so far—I am considering switching to something else while she is still young and healthy. Is that a good idea? What would be a better option? Any advice would be appreciated. We live in Los Angeles.
Thanks!
Metlife - Horrible experience with Metlife
Just a warning to all pet parents. I got two cats from different shelters and signed them up together. One was from a partner shelter and should have been covered from day 1. The other could only start coverage after 2 weeks. Metlife continuously mixes up their names and denies claims for pre-existing conditions, even for the cat from the partner shelter.
Sucks because I heard so many great things about them, but I haven't had a successful claim processed in 4 months of owning these cats. If anyone has tips on how to deal with pet insurance that would be really helpful.
Metlife - Metlife Preventive Care Plan Limit Change
Has anyone subscribed to a Metlife cat insurance lately and selected the preventive care plan (375/575)? Are the individual limits (dental, Microchip, etc)clearly outlined in the policy packet?
I bought a plan for my cat in March 2024, and there was no such limit (so the preventive care limit for a dental cleaning was the same as the original policy limit). I guess they were the only one to do that and they aligned with most other insurances.
Embrace Pet Insurance - Embrace Pet Insurance DENIED Neurological brain scan because of "pre-existing" itchy skin
Ok, this is absolutely insane to me but coming here to see if anyone has any advice or thinks I'm overreacting.
My dog's TLDR background:
* almost 2 years old, GSD mix with cattle dog, pit, husky
* has been exhibiting some intense anxiety (can't take him on walks) and sensitivity to noises (these send him into a panic)
* our trainer noticed he had a head tremor when he was about 5 months old, but my husband and I never noticed it, neither did our first two vets. Our current vet noticed it + an eye tremor about two months ago and recommended we see a neurologist and get an MRI
* Thankfully the MRI showed a normal brain but it did show an inner ear infection
The MRI was almost $5k. I submitted it to Embrace and they DENIED it because they are saying his inner ear infection is related to his itchy skin that he had when we rescued him at 6 weeks old, and therefore falls under his pre-existing condition. The MRI wasn't to identify the ear infection, that's just something that happened to show up. The MRI was for his brain health to see if we could determine why his behavior has gotten so anxious and he's started showing aggression.
I've included screenshots of their "reasoning" and it seems absolutely crazy to me.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have advice on how to proceed?
